I was out spearfishing with my friends Charlie, Ben, and Tom in our local playground. We had better than usual viz so we were trying to map out a familiar area for future expeditions. On my second drop I shot the fish and it proceeded to get tangled up in the structure. My reel locked up but luckily we were shallow so I could see my floating gun while breathing back up. On my fourth attempt I was able to yank the gag and my bent shaft out and bring him to the surface with Charlie cheering me on. I swam it back to the boat happily then enjoyed some cold beers in celebration.
