We traveled 35 nautical miles from Cape Point in search of Yellow fin Tuna and had been following trawlers most of the day with only a long fin tuna and bonito having been taken. Later in the afternoon after myself and the other 2 divers had already taken our diving gear off, did the captain of the boat say to us that he was seeing big showings under the boat and did we want to have a look. I jumped into my wet suit as fast as I could got my gear together and jumped into the water. As I was unwrapping the line off of my board the fish came up to me turned and started to swim away, the fish was roughly 7m from me when I pulled the trigger wanting to be sure of my shot. The spear penetrated behind the head and the fish took off, after a 1 and half hour fight and the fish was at 15m was I able to dive down and put a second spear into the fish and securing my fish of a lifetime!
