Record Category: Men Speargun

Diver: David Lewington
Date: 11/28/2016
Location: AUSTRALIA

The fish was first observed on the outside of a coral cave system on the edge of sand. The fish saw me on the surface and darted back into its cave. It took several dives on the cave system to establish the best way to approach the fish. On my final drop on the fish I swam right into the cave system where i observed the fish at the back of the cave. The fish spooked and swam towards an exit. It doubled back which allowed me to shoot it mid flank as the fish swam away. The spear hit the fishes back bone immobilising it instantly. The flopper lodged in the gills of the fish.
