I took a late summer trip from SF to New England to visit with my favorite human Colin Hillberg. We planned to take a boat out to Block Island with spear-it my first day there, but a hurricane rolled in and the ocean was blown out for the next week! It cleared up just in time for us to squeeze in a shore dive the day before our second scheduled trip (this was my first time diving the area and my first time with a pole spear). We had the pleasure of sharing the boat with four pole spearos, three of which placed in a competition that day. After departing at 5:45AM, everyone landed large striped bass; the largest taken was 57 lbs, mine was world record for women's pole spear.
