I was diving with Cameron Kirkconnell who was teaching me how to dive deeper and we had just finished 30 minutes of training to get more comfortable diving in 50-60' of water. Just as we finished my last dive Cameron said, "Now we need to go and find you a big grouper." Next thing we know right below us is the biggest red grouper we have ever seen. I breathed up and had the Headhunter Pile Driver cocked from the surface. As soon as I got near the grouper I let fly and smashed him just outside of his hole. I got another pole spear and shot him again to be sure. It was so hard to relax on the surface but it was worth it in the end to have this monster fish in my hands. Cam had said as soon as he saw it was a Record but I had no idea how big it was until I got it to the surface. On the boat we weighed it and it was over 20 lbs. When we got back to Florida and put it on the official scale I was blown away. So happy. Best trip of my life.
