We headed up to bird rock first thing that morning to do some reef hunting as the blue water had been slow the past couple of days. After spending around an he scouting around the reef 50-65' I located some nice boulders with releif. On a preliminary dive I noticed two rock hind which were larger than any i had seen previously. I returned to the surface turned on my flashlight and did a proper breath up. Once I made it near the bottom I started scanning under the rocks with the light, eventually located one of the larger rock hind at very back area under the rock. Proceeded to load up the headhunter polespear and take the shot which hit mid body and allowing the slip tip to toggle. After a few seconds wrangling the fish from out of the rocks I was able to secure my catch. Photos in the water were taken by Cameron Kirkconnell as were the weigh station photos. Daniel Hulme assisted in the measurements and took the photos of the measurements.
