My son and our friends, the Pitts family, were getting ready to do a dive near the Southwest Reef off of Nassau so I took the opportunity to do a quick hunt while they were all prepping in the boat. I swam towards a structure in 50'. As I swam into a fairly stiff current I saw a surge of small reef fish likely indicating a predator. I turned and saw a large mackerel hunting the same structure. I gave a short chase, swimming towards him, loaded my pole spear, took one last breathe and dove to about 30' where I intercepted the fish with a broadside shot. The Head Hunter slip-tip deployed nicely and within moments I was passing the fish into the boat.
