Was diving a nice rocky reef off the central pacific coast of Baja Mexico the top of the reef came up to about 60 feet and the edges dropped off to about 90 feet. I made a drop on the top and noticed that the reef dropped off about 20 yards to my right and i noticed a lot of small fish hanging out over this certain rocky section of the drop off, so i came back up swam across and breathed up to make a drop on the edge when I dropped I saw what i was looking for a big broomtail so I cocked my Headhunter polespear and a couple kicks later i was close enough to let it go smashing him on the side just behind the lateral fins I began to pull on the floatline to prevent the fish from rocking up and after a few minutes of battling this fish and trying to breathe out of my snorkel at the same time i was able to get the fish up and into boat.
