Mid day now, Just tagged what I though was a 5 - 8 lb Scamp. Returning into the water a thought emerges " What if there's a bigger one ". Swim back to the rock, dive down and on the way up I spot him. All white with black variations in the sand, he darts in a hole.. After looking in the hole and spooking him, I spot him through a crack on the top of the rock. I dive down again immediately loading my pole spear. As I approach this small hole I can see him, his head is in perfect view, I slowly angle my pole spear as I get closer and let it fly. Boom. no movement. After a short tug the fish emerges. I grab it by the eyes, angle the head out and squeeeeze the rock pops out what I thought to be a Scamp Grouper but turned out to be a fish i'd never heard of. A Yellowmouth Grouper!
