We were diving a section of wall where we had seen 2 monster black grouper. One was about 100 lbs, the other 80. Huge fish. So we were breathing up for long dives. I never got close enough to the grouper, but on a dive to the top of the drop off, this dog snapper came just within range. I shot him with my Cameron Kirkconnell polespear and the Headhunter Slip Tip engaged. The fish went straight for the edge. I kept good pressure on the fish during my 92 foot ascent and managed to keep him from getting rocked up. I knew it was close to the record amd Brad confirmed it with his scale!
