We were targeting snapper with a pole spear specifically to get a record. This was the last weekend of the Alabama season. The snapper were hanging around artificial reefs (pyramids) that had been placed just inside the 3 mile limit 2 years ago. I had speared a fish that would have qualified the weekend before, however, the fish took away the lower half of my pole spear. So we had to buy another spear.
