we were almost at Hannibal Bank when we spotted a large log with 2 dorados. I jumped in with my pole spear and shot the largest one. After I shot, the break away tip didn't tip did not break away. Not wanting to pull the tip out of the fish, I dropped the pole spear and maintained control of the fish with the 100' line I had coiled and tucked below my weight belt. Within a second's time, the breakaway released and the pole spear fell tot he bottom of the ocean. The picture I have included is a photo of the same pole spear used a couple of months before on a Colorado snapper.
