Sam Adam, my brother Jt Myers, and myself went on an epic 3 month sailing expedition through the Bahamas. One day we anchored off a deserted beach on the east side of Rum Cay. My brother and I were diving off the back of the sail boat one morning when I spotted this beast yellowfin cruising around. I followed him for awhile till he went into a very small hole strait down in the reef. It was too small to fit my Headhunter polespear in so I grabbed the Hawaiian sling from my brother and descended into the hole. The entrance of the hole was shallow only about 27 feet deep but opened into a massive horizontal labyrinth of caves. I followed the grouper about 40 feet across under the hole and put a shot in him then found my way out a different hole. I recovered and grabbed my Headhunter pole spear and descended back into the hole and made a really long shot back into a particularly narrow spot where he was hiding. I placed a perfect stone shot and somehow managed to extract him from the tiny hole. We swam him back to the boat and began the weighing and measuring process. The beach was rocky and the surf was big so weighing it on the beach was impossible.
