I swam under a large bridge piling base with a cocked Riffe 8' Silent Hunter polespear with a Headhunter slip-tip. I saw 3 nice Black Drum, and shot the largest in the gill plate from 5' away. I surfaced and grabbed the float line. I then dove back down, pulled the float line until the Drum was out from beneath the piling cap. I pulled him out through the pilings south into the open bay. I then pulled the polespear into me and subdued the fish with my hand in its gills. I then swam over to the boat and threw the fish and polespear over the gunnel into the boat.
