Around 3.30 pm, César, Tiago, and I where on the boat from Calhau Port to the place we choose to go spearfishing. It was in the channel between Pico and Faial. The sea was calm but there was a strong current. Tiago was on the boat and César and I went into the water. We saw some fish but no shot that was possible to do. César decided to make just one more dive and saw a yellowmouth barracuda. His shot was not solid, but, working with the fish he started to pull for the line. I saw one fish around César’s barracuda, so I dived and shot the fish. I was about 12 meters deep when I made the shot,at 5.36 pm. The fish struggled for a while but after 10 was in my hands. Only at that time I realized that he was huge. I put the fish in the boat and head for shore.
