I was diving out of Miami toward Fowey Rocks Lighthouse when I felt the presence of something behind me. I pulled my sling back as I turned, and I shot the sailfish. It was a kill shot, and I swam it back to the anchored boat. When I threw it into the boat, the spear fell out, and it came back to life. I jumped on top of it to keep it from jumping over the side. We weighed it at the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce dock (56 pounds), and a photographer took a picture. which ended up on in newspapers across the country.
