After two months of scouting and preparation, I arrived at the dive site around 5 p.m. Conditions were tough—cold, very murky water, strong currents, and windsurfers covering the surface. I dove for about an hour and a half, working through several techniques and adapting constantly to the challenging visibility and movement. At a depth of just 2 meters, I finally spotted a few medium-sized bass, then a larger shadow trailing behind. Using my stock Epsilon pole spear, I lined up the shot and landed it clean through the gills. By the time I exited the water around 6:30, the lake had emptied. The bass measured 50 cm and weighed 2.31 kg—a rewarding end to weeks of preparation and one of my most challenging dives to date.
