Mike Livingston and I went to a small cove in flaming gorge, where we spent the morning spearfishing. We did not see a lot of large fish, but we did see a lot of small trout, as well as small mouth bass, we were able to shoot a handful of fish, but most of them were relatively small. Later on in the afternoon, we decided to go spearfishing. One more time during the evening near our camp. We did not see a lot of fish. We were about 30 or 40 feet out from shore when I saw 4 or 5 small mouth bass underneath me, the visibility wasn't great. So I dove down and waited for a few seconds at that moment. One of the fish turned sideways, and I shot As I surfaced, I knew it was a big fish and I showed it to Mike immediately, who also was surprised how big it was. We continued fishing for about another hour and a 1/2 and put it on the Stringer. When we got to shore, we both, we're very surprised at the size of the fish and mike suggested that we weigh it to see if it what's close to a record fish. When we got back to camp, we used to hand wear which weighed the fish. Unofficially, the wait came in as a record, and so that morning, I drove down to vernol and went into the smiths, meet and deli to get it officially weighed where it came in at five pounds five ounces.
