Scouting a new bommie, and very little current I decided to swim along and around the coral head, there I found a lot of bait, I breathed up and made a dive towards the bottom, at about 10m I stopped finning and started free falling, I notice the grouper turn off the bottom and start swimming towards me, I decided to angle away from it and minimize eye contact, this kept him interested, I loaded the pole spear and turned when I thought I was in range, my luck was good, timing was perfect, the fish was broad side and well within range, I let the pole fly striking the fish just behind the gills, I was expecting an almighty fight as I know these fish are nauseously strong and will reef you up deep in their holes if they get a chance...I braced my self for a fight for the surface...no need, my shot was good, actually very good, the fish stopped dead! I pulled the pole spear behind me bringing the fish within reach, I grabbed it and swam to the surface, dinner was going to be good tonight!
