Me and a buddy did an out of state road trip and I brought my gear along in case I could do some shore diving on the way home with some buddies. When we arrived to the camp in the late afternoon we noticed the water edges looked fairly clear. We saw several fish swimming around including several nice tilipia. The next afternoon I noticed some still swimming around. I had enough and decided to give it a go. I suited up and slipped in by a tree branch. The water was a little cleaner then I thought it would be to my surprise. I speared a nice tilipia within the first few minutes and worked my way where I saw the others. As I reached that area 4 nice tilipia appeared but one stuck out. I let it fly and had it pretty quickly. When I exited the water my buddy was laughing at the size of the bigger one. I knew it was good but not that good. All we had was a basic hand scale at the time but saw it was a pound or more bigger then the previous record. I iced it up for the ride back and to put it on a certified scale.
