After one week of diving in the remote murky waters of Brazil I started to finally start seeing fish. I found myself getting further and further downstream where the current was starting to rip. I would do one drift and then swim along the shore amongst the mangroves and fallen trees and then repeat. Finally after marking my spot on the rivers edge I found where the fish were hiding. Although the visibility was good the water was still a dark green color. The fish would come in schools quickly and from all angles. After a school approached I lined up on one at the back. Hitting it directly behind the head mid body above the spine. It was a tough fight against both the fish and the current but I finally landed it in hand. I managed to swim upstream towards a boulder that was above water and dispatched the fish there. I couldn't believe it after only two weeks in Brazil in anaconda infested waters I landed a dream fish!
