Day 4 last day on the trip I had seen a 2 more halibut with the polespear that I probably could have gotten with a regular gun but I wanted one on the polespear bad. Last drift of the day I came across one on the bottom, I slowly loaded my spear and dropped on it aiming in front of its head anticipating it would take off like the last two I had seen and if it did I would let it fly. It stayed put and let me get right on it and put a great shot in it pulled it up and into the boat and my trip was complete, when preparation meets opportunity at its finest!
