We showed up and the ocean was alive with activity. I jumped in and immediately had a sea lion come check me out. The current was moving very fast. I did my first drop and loaded my pole spear on the way down. I landed a little shallower than I expected but was in a good ambush position, after maybe 30 seconds I had two fish come in and both were keeping their distance. I picked the second fish and let the first fish swim by. The second fish turned away before coming into range, at the same time the first fish also turned and swam back past me within range. I put a solid mid body holding shot and held on for a ride. The sea lion came back and started chasing my fish so I knew I had to put some serious jalapeƱo heat on the fish. After a few minutes I had the fish under control but was exhausted. I brained the fish and swam to the boat where I tossed the fish in over the rail.
