I spent the day out spearfishing around Nosy Be with my good friend Rui Rodrigues exploring some spots nearby. I had a few marks around that area including a nice shipwreck that we decided to dive at the very end of the day. Rui dove first with the speargun while I filmed him getting a 5kg golden trevally that was in the middle of a big school of barracuda. We did a few more dives and kept seeing a few fish so when it was my turn to dive with the gun I decided to swap with the pole spear. These weren't the biggest fish but still a cool challenge to try to get one on the pole. The current had now started pushing in, which made for a progressively stronger current. The fish started to scatter and I was having a hard time finding a good size golden trevaly. As the sun was getting lower we decided to go for one last drop. This time, instead of diving just on top of the marker bouey I decided to go way up current, hoping to see something different. I got through the murky layer and a nice golden shows up right behind me. As I turned around it started swimming away but I decided to risk a long shot that ended up stoning the fish, even though it did not go all the way through. We came back to the mothership to have some fresh golden trevally for dinner!
