We were swimming along the reef when we noticed a school of Jacks. Immediately, one really large Jack stood out from the rest. I cocked my spear, and started to descend to intercept him. As I got closer, he turned broad side and I released my spear. It was a clean shot. I could see that the release tip had gone all the way through to the other side. I knew the power of these fish, and without having a float line attached I was concerned he would get away from me. I then kicked with everything in me to get back up to the surface, and back to the boat.
