I was swimming along the coast and saw four Kermadec Kahawai in the wash. They were cagey and stayed well out of range. After several dives and attempts to get close I intercepted their path and took a long shot at the biggest fish. It hit mid-body and I was careful to keep the line tight as I swam to the surface. It fought surprisingly hard but I subdued it and ickied it without a problem. I was stoked with the fish.
