I was crossing back from Long Island, Bahamas to Florida with three of my friends and we decided to stop in Bimini for a day of spearfishing before checking out of the Bahamas and crossing over to Florida. We were diving off of my 46' sailing catamaran off of Bimini. My friend Amz Wessels offered to drive the boat so I could jump in. I was in the water with my dive buddies Laurent Gloor and Peter Arrieta when a big mackerel swam in on the flasher. Peter bounced the flasher and I dove down and got a nice quartering away shot. The fish ran 3 times and I made sure not to put too much pressure on the floatline so that the shot wouldnt rip out. Meanwhile, Laurent and Peter made sure no sharks came in on the fish. After the 3rd run the fish was tired and I was able to get ahold of its tail and then grab it by the gills, brain it and swim it to the boat.
