We arrived at our first spot at about 9:30am. It was a beautiful day with very light wind and current. Brett Booth began to check the current so he could drop me in the right spot while Ben Kinsey and Hudson Booth helped me prepare chum. Ben and I dropped in while Hudson began throwing chum. After approximately 5 dives I seen what I believed to be the biggest red snapper on the spot. It was eating the chum in the water column around 85 foot. The fish was curious and approached me and I was able to place a shot in it's cheek with my Neretic Bantham Roller Polespear. The shot placement allowed me to control the snapper's head and I loosened the drag on my Aussie belt reel on the way to the surface. Once on the surface, I finished pulling the fish up, swam to the boat and tossed the fish inside.
