We found an old pier that still has the posts sticking out of the water so we figured we would scope it out before heading out to lake MI. Right away we saw tons of good size drum and some monster carp and started taking a few of those. I dove down to the bottom about 25 feet down is all and saw a group of big catfish sitting vertically on the old wooden posts and shot the biggest one. Retrieved the fish pulled it off my spear and threw it in the cooler! At the time had no idea that it was a world record until Ken texted me later right before I was about to fillet and told me not too until I take the pictures, measurements and weight for submission!
