I was doing some drift dives with my husband in an area with strong current moving over a rocky reef area with patches of sand and gravel. Time was late afternoon. Pollack's are a type of cod like fish who love areas with current and are fun to hunt using aspetto. Diving down to the bottom, I held into some rocks to brace myself in the current and waited for fish to come out of the haze. Sure enough, I saw a beautiful Pollack approach and took careful aim in the strong current. I was very happy to stone the fish and being my personal best Pollack to the surface. This fish has some of the best white and flakey meat and made for some bomb fish tacos! Fish was speared with my RedTide Competitor 90cm, with flopper shaft and reel and no float line. Water temps were approximately 8 °C and depth approximately 15 meters. Really stoked!
