we started our day like any other spearfishing day hopping for the best but was not expecting anything crazy. I decided that we gonna hit a honey hole that I know and targeting a pelagic species. we got everything ready and in place went to blue water waiting for anything to shoot and use as chum. we could not find anything in the deep blue water so I decided that I will try to shot a small reef fish to use as chum. I gave my brother the big gun and took the 130 with the real and headed back toward the reef barrier. I saw a few fish but nothing good enough to use and decided to take a drop on a ledge and wait for anything to come from the surrounding area. took the dive to the ledge that was on 13 meters of water and in less than a minute in the dive, I spotted this beast. I decided not to move and gamble it for another dive so I waited on my spot and in a few seconds he decided to check me out and that's when I got the chance to take a good shot at him. he got stoned and the spear did not come all the way through the fish. I definitely was lucky and this is my biggest yellow lip so far.
