What an experience!! I was diving in beautiful Fish Lake, Utah with my dad Kenny Western and our diving buddies. We had been out diving in the cold 58 degree water for over two hours when I saw the tail of a Tiger Muskie! He was only 8 feet deep. They have to be at least 40 inches long to shoot at this lake. I held my shot for a few seconds, because I wasn’t sure how big it was. Suddenly he bolted forward and I and I knew he was a monster! I took my shot from the surface and he drug me right under. I swam up and grabbed a hold of my float. It was a good struggle to get him on my hoop. Once I had him secure, I must have stared at him for a good 10 minutes in amazement!! About an hour later I spotted my dad’s float close to me, so I swam to him and told him to go check out the hoop on my float. The look on his face is one I’ll never forget. So grateful my dad and I share a love for spearfishing! And I am so grateful I had the opportunity to shoot this once in a life time Tiger Muskie!
