It’s been 7 years since I’ve been able to dive for Red Snappers with the limited season. We left early and as the sun rose I was first in the water and drifted away from the boat took a breath and made my first dive as 5 fish 15+ lbs came up to greet me midwater. I passed the first few looking for a stud and it being my first dive of the day and less than a minute in the water I wasn’t stressed about pushing too hard. Relaxed, the right fish presented a great shot and I released the Headhunter Nomad Roller Pole Spear and he streaked off into the depths. Incredibly stoked the fish weighed in a few lbs over the world record and in less than a minute of getting in the water trying for the record with the season open I’d been blessed to shoot one of my favorite fish and the new record Red Snapper.
