I spent the previous day getting over my fears of diving the trees in the murky lake water. My husband Dusty worked with me most of the day on this. I actually shot at and missed one fish prior to this one... and I shot at another fish and lost my shaft from the mono snapping on my awesome newly built roller gun. So I had to switch to a different gun for the remainder of the day. I dove down the side of a tree into the murk, busted through the thermocline and the viz opened up tremendously. I layed on the bottom in the mud just waiting... waiting. All of a sudden I saw stripes to my right, slowly moved my gun and POW... stone shot. I was fully expecting a fight and wrapped up line and was prepared to have a mess... but that didn't happen. Which is nothing to complain about! I was able to safely swim to the surface to celebrate with the best dive partner ever.
