It was just a normal day of spearfishing, the weather was a little rough. I had jumped in at two or three spots already and got a few lobsters and some hogfish. At the next spot we jumped in at, it was 30' deep and the bottom was a little different with smaller rocks and coral heads with some grass and fans. The current was really strong so I just kept swimming along into it so I could stay over the coral heads and rocks because it was pulling us off the spot into the grass. Out of the corner of my eye I saw the tail of the fish with his back under a small rock. I loaded up my Neritic Blue Bantam polespear and swam down right to where I thought his head would be and immediately knew what kind of fish he was (The fish I had been searching for!!!). As soon as I was right over his head he looked up at me and I let it fly. A perfect shot! Stoned him right on the top of his head! As I pulled the fish to the surface it was a lot bigger than I expected based on the rock he was next to and with no struggle at all from the fish I pulled him into the boat!
