I dropped to just over 40 feet when I saw the lingcod cruise by me, i followed the fish over some boulders into a small cave. I did not have enough room for a good shot but lined up as best as I could. I shot the fish and after some thrashing the fish tore off before I could get my hands on her. About a half hour later of combing over the same area looking for the lingcod I saw her again. She slowly shook off the ocean floor and flicked away as I calmly approached her, getting as close as possible with out spooking away the fish. I reached out and let the Evolve carbon pole spear go. I hit the the fish solid in the back of the head and the spear came out of he lower jaw. I got ahold of the fish and swam her up and quickly brained her.
